"I always wanted to be a designer, but I didn't initially pursue it because I thought you had to go to school for it," says Trinity Fodor, who shattered her own preconceptions a year ago when she started her own brand, @fromtrinity. The self-taught seamstress had earned an associate of arts degree in general studies and worked as a personal stylist before launching her New York label. Now she revamps pre-owned denim sources from thrift shops, vintage store, estate sales, and more, creating one-of-a-kind pieces for babes with a downtown mind-set. "I'm my own customer, so everything I make I really love," Trinity notes. "I like to misplace pockets [they sometimes become knee patches] and also make them into tube tops - when I alter a pair of pants, they may end up creating a whole outfit."
