To celebrate the launch of Lonely Planet's National Parks of America titles, this weekend's #lpInstaTakeover is from #LPpathfinders member @istefpayne, who is on a mission to explore ALL 59 National Parks in 2016! Quite the adventure, eh? 'The Grand Canyon is so many things to so many people. At the rim, it's a madhouse of people, buses, activity.....and, of course, some of the most amazing views of any national park in the world. But get down below the rim, into the canyon, and it's as if you stumbled upon a peaceful secret. The crowds thin and all that's left is the chirping of the birds, the sounds of the mighty #Colorado River (which formed this canyon), and this magical light that makes everything seem like a fantasy. What a joy to have experienced the infamous rim to rim hike in the #GrandCanyon. My muscles ached, but my heart soared like the condors who call this amazing place home.'
