Last night Sydney and the Painted Dog Conservation hosted Kevin Richardson @Kevin Richardson LionWhisperer . (Pictured here) Kevin spoke on his love of lions including his special relationships with Meg and Amy and Thor and the Spanish cubs George and Yame. But Kevin's main message was on canned hunting. The diagram you see depicts the life of a 'farmed lion'. A lion that is bred for a specific purpose. It is over bred. And then petted by tourists and unsuspecting volunteers and then used for 'walking with lions' activities before being sold off to a hunting farm to become a killed in a canned hunt. A canned hunt is where the hunter is guaranteed his kill. "It's in the can." And then sometimes the next step is the lion bone trade. Along with Kevin we strongly urge you to consider your choices when visiting Africa and not contributing to this industry by not participating in cub petting or walking with lions. Thank you.
