Democrats have staged a sit-in on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to draw attention to gun legislation, a move they have called “unprecedented." They are demanding a vote on a bill that would prevent people on the terrorist watch list from purchasing guns, also known as the “no fly, no buy” bill.

After Republicans called for a recess, the live feed of the floor was cut off, preventing people outside the Capitol from watching the sit-in. But various Democratic members have been broadcasting the sit-in on Periscope, Facebook Live and Snapchat, bringing attention to the unprecedented protest. Rep. Katherine Clark shared this photograph on Twitter earlier today. “Staying on the House floor to demand a vote on gun safety bills,” she wrote.
