Last night’s #fullmoon -- also called a #strawberrymoon in June -- rises from behind a group of American flags at the #WashingtonMonument @nationalmallnps in #WashingtonDC. This rare sight is the first full moon to fall on the summer solstice in more than 50 years. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, Native American Algonquin tribes would collect strawberries during this time, which is where the name originates.
