Photo by @bertiegregory // Potoos have got to be amongst the most well camouflaged birds in the world. Whilst they are very difficult to spot for the first time, individuals tend to return to exactly the same branch day after day to rest (they are nocturnal hunters). So once you've found one, you know where to look the next time you're in that part of the forest. The behaviour pictured is known as pencilling which essentially involves sitting still all day and pretending to be a branch!Photographed just outside of Manu National Park in the Peruvian Amazon.
