(5/6) Brian’s hands-on approach to teaching his daughters about science and making an individual impact on the environment stems from a life philosophy taught by UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, a lifelong role model and inspiration. “Success is the self-satisfaction which comes from the direct result of knowing you did the best to become the best that you’re capable of becoming,” Brian explains. “I’ve tried to instill this upon the kids. Defining success in life is, ‘Making each day your masterpiece.’” Brian brings this outlook into work as well, prioritizing the integrity of his clients’ creative ideas and helping bring them to life through parameters and rules that make sense. “There are two ways to do the job,” Brian says. It’s either “We’re just going to say no and make sure we don’t get sued, versus, we want to understand the creative and let people tell the story they want to, while still making sure everyone’s safe. The right project can have a profound impact from a social and influencing perspective because people want an escape from reality and to feel emotion.
