Maisie Williams responds to a sexist headline:

An entire new organisation has found itself added to @メイジー・ウィリアムズ' kill list, after the actress responded to a ridiculously sexist headline.

Williams attended the NSPCC Summer Masquerade Ball on Saturday, helping to raise money for Childline. Overlooking the actual point of the night, the Daily Mail went with the headline: “Unveiled: Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams goes braless in sheer lace dress and quirky headpiece at charity masquerade ball”. Not cool when whether or not you’re wearing underwear is the big scoop pulled from a charity event.

So, the actress provided an alt headline on Twitter, complete with the ‘sipping tea’ frog/teacup emoji combo. “Alternative: Game of Thrones actor, Maisie Williams, helps raise thousands at a Summer Masquerade Ball for @NSPCC,” she tweeted. The NSPCC responded: “Thanks for all your support, Maisie – we really appreciate it!” Williams’ tweet has been retweeted more than 52,000 times already.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the past Dazed cover star spoke candidly about feminism, explaining, “You are either a normal person or a sexist.” Speaking to Dazed last year about the system that disadvantages women, she said: “It’s not perfect for me and for people in my position, it’s totally not perfect, but there are so many women that can’t speak out about how shit things are.” - words @annagranola #dazedinstastory.
