Even before moving to Seattle in the summer of 2013, I was mesmerized by Mount Rainier. At 14,410 feet, Rainier is the highest peak in Washington State and the most prominent and glaciated mountain in the contiguous United States. I've been lucky to have Mount Rainier National Park as an area I visit often and as a volcano I've successfully summited. Whether you prefer to climb it's summit, backcountry ski its slopes, or hike among its wildflowers, Rainier truly never gets old.
