Gosses Bluff meteor crater Australia
Known as Tnorala in to the Western Arrernte indigenous people. It is a erosional remnant of a 142.5 (+- .8) million year old impact crater.
The crater was caused by a comet core or meteorite 1km across. Originally the impact crater was 23 K across. Now it is 5 K across and 150 meters tall.
The Arrernte have a legend about the crater being created by a child falling from the sky.
I just built a 3D model of this crater using 159 photos -including this one!
