Known to many tourists for its beautiful islands, #Thailand has closed 10 of its popular diving sites over an ongoing #coral bleaching crisis. Bleaching occurs when algae living inside corals and giving them their color are expelled due to rising water temperatures. And the country says high tourist numbers, which produce problems like food waste and gasoline from boats leaking into waters, are to blame for damaging the ecosystem. (via @cnntravel)
