My friends, as you know we are going to need more than prayers to pass the bill in NY to ban declawing. The NYSVM$ is currently spending lots and lots of money on lobbyists who are trying to persuade the legislators that they need to keep amputating cat's toes and claws?. (Can you imagine all the good they could be using that money for, that would HELP animals instead of trying to kill a bill that's GOOD for cats but bad for their pocketbooks?) The majority of the world knows that there are always humane alternatives to this cruel and mutilating procedure and that declawing does NOT keep a cat in a home. All shelters in America are against declawing.
Sadly these vetmed professionals put greed and their own needs over the welfare of cats and make really weak excuses as to why declawing should be a medical procedure they should be able to do.
Don't let them fool you.
They are a shame to the #vetmed profession, sneaky, and actually are going against their oath to heal and help animals as they did when they successfully lead the effort to kill the bill in 2013 that would ban the inhumane force feeding of ducks to make the diseased, fatty liver (foie gras)
