Tomorrow the New York $tate Veterinary Medical $ociety will be going on their 2nd annual @hudsonvalleyfoiegras tour and tasting. ?

Yep, you heard it right. These vets aren't going to try ask HVFG to stop the foie gras process of ramming long metal tubes down their duck's throats 3 times a day to force feed them so that their livers will enlarge ten times bigger.
These "doctors" who supposedly joined the noble profession of vetmed, are going to ENJOY the experience as a fun-filled afternoon. They will see the cute little ducklings frolicking around in their cage free buildings, watch the older duck's force feedings and then the slaughter, and then will taste the products of this torture.
Most likely they won't be shown the distressed ducks in the stage where they are suffering in the last weeks of their lives because the rapid enlargement of their abdomens has hindered walking, breathing, ruptured livers, esophageal trauma and food spilling from the birds’ throats and nostrils, and other conditions that are too terrible to mention here. ?
That might ruin these vet's appetite for the Foie gras salad or their pan roasted foie gras, or their Foie Breakfast Bowl, or their FoieReos cookies.
I reached out to the PR woman for the NYSVMS and sent some of your ideas as options for tomorrow's tour, that would HELP the welfare of animals, but I'm not optimistic that they will cancel this Foie Torture Tour.
After all, the long time treasurer of the NYSVMS (and past Pres),is also paid by Hudson Valley Foie Gras Farm as a spokesperson and tour guide for these torture tours and is the organizer for this NYSVMS tour. I would bet that the NYSVMS wants to keep the person who is in charge of their finances happy.
