As part of #turquiosetakeover week in an effort to raise awareness and funds for @lungforce I share with you a family memory from when my granny, Doris Dooyema was win us! She was the center of our world and an inspiration to us all. Who knew a bronchitis diagnosis could be so far off? Due to lack of early detection methods we found out the diagnosis was much more grave. We were in shock as we were told she had lung cancer. Here was the strongest woman we knew, not able to fight for herself...it was unfair. The anger, confusion and utter devastation we all feel from her loss has driven us to get involved with LUNG FORCE. My family will all be walking with me in Austin, TX on April 16th to honor the life of their mother and grandmother!
