Mother nature's infinity pool... Anyone up for a dip? ?? ••• •••••• Landscapes play a big roll in my action photography, but I've never spent much time simply shooting frames without people in them. Like actually hiking to a location just to shoot landscapes... hardly ever. So this week I set out to change that, with a little post commercial project adventure to #patagonia. Now to start, you need to understand that landscape photographers are a different breed, up before dawn and back well after sunset. They have special filters, tripods, and other doohickeys that are all designed to make static landscapes come alive in ways that your eyes can't see. They can be salty folks if you mess up a perfectly placed rock or if your headlamp is the wrong color Kelvin... But the great landscape guys and gals are some of the most incredibly skilled photographers I've ever met. And when you pry the camera from their hands (when midday light hits) to share a beer, their love for life and adventure to the far corners of the world is unparalleled. Now of course I don't own any of those fancy tools and my last minute decision to come further south left me with a basic 4 lens kit and a single camera. No filters. One mediocre tripod. And no doohickeys. But I'm giving it the old college try, and I'm looking forward to sharing some of my trials and tribulations (and hearing yours!) this week. Including today's tech tip later tonight... #sunset #torresdelpaine #chile
