Monday: Rabīciyya, a breakfast from medieval Baghdad. This is my adaptation of a dish from Kitāb al-Tabīkh, a 9th century cooking manual. I have used the translation Charles Perry in A Baghdad Cookery Book ------------------------------
The name of the dish comes from 'rabīc' meaning springtime. Leftover lamb from yesterday's Easter lunch with spices like ground coriander, cinnamon, cumin, mastic, ginger and dried jujube berries. Served with a side of toasted Turkish bread and tahini with yoghurt #SymmetryBreakfast
