Singer @チャーリー・プース is up for Favorite Collaboration with Wiz Khalifa at tonight’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Here, the 24-year-old New Jersey native talks about how he got into music and the experience of playing his first headlining tour. “I was always obsessed with making video content. I started producing music in 2001 when I got my first synthesizer from my mom and dad. The Korg Triton Studio, which is what Pharrell used — I had it at 11 years old. I wasn’t really an overnight sensation kind of thing. It always was just a slow buildup. When I went on ‘Ellen’ that was definitely a big advancement. But everything else has just been great. [My tour] has been pretty incredible, actually. I’ve never played for this many people. It’s just really cool playing for everybody in real time versus playing for them on the Internet, which is what I’ve always done up to this point.” #KCA
