#GoPro Featured Photographer – Mark Healey (aka @donkeyshow)

About the Shot: On this day I was hanging out, capturing some #surfing content with the #GoPro crew at #RockyPoint on the North Shore of Oahu. The waves were average but still fun to rip around. One of the best parts about the #NorthShore is the way it’s oriented to the sun. It usually sinks back behind the waves around 2:45pm and gives off this beautiful, back lit emerald lighting. I’ve always loved this lighting.
How the Shot was Captured: Knowing how the light is at this time, I hit the lip of the wave to create a cool natural glow effect coming through the water. I had my #HERO4Black set to .5s #timelapse mode and mounted to the front of my board with a #surf mount and a few connectors to lift it off 2-3 inches. When surfing I always keep the camera in one button mode to keep it from getting too warm in tropical locations. #GoProSurf
