#GoPro Featured Photographer – Mark Healey (aka @donkeyshow)

About the Shot: Everyone that lives in #Tahiti is so warm and welcoming, especially when they find out you’re from Hawaii! I came out to this amazing French Polynesian island with my girlfriend to work on a stunt dive and ended up meeting a pretty awesome #Polynesian dude during my travels named Wilfred. Wilfred has an awesome rapport with the local fish, #stingrays, and #sharks in the area and loves taking people out on his boat to hangout underwater for the day.
How the Shot was Captured: One day we cruised out with Wilfred to spend a day on the water at a crystal clear, shallow spot. We jumped in with a huge number of the local rays, fish and sharks and watched Wilfred’s relationship with these totally wild animals. He’s created such a safe environment for these animals, they trust him enough to ride on the backs of the stingrays and sharks! For this shot I used an #overunder dome port to hold my #GoPro. I set the camera to 1s #timelapse mode to give enough time to capture the over under and be in sync with the passing waves.
