For a few weeks in February if the conditions are just right, for about 10 minutes around sunset, one waterfall in @yosemitenps looks more like its opposite — a #firefall. The phenomenon occurs only if there has been enough snow and rain, if the skies are clear and if the setting sun strikes the water at an angle that creates the illusion of lava. To take this photo of Horsetail Fall’s glowing transformation, @vjamesphoto said he donned his waders and stepped into the Merced River. Visit the link in our profile to see more @Instagram photos of the #firefall.
