Alan Eustace strapped himself to a weather balloon, rose 135,000 feet into the air and...jumped. All in the name of science. In fact, he made his own spacesuit for the feat -- one that had to withstand him breaking the sound barrier. “To go up in the stratosphere right now, you have to create your own vehicle to do it; it has to have life support," he says.
