A leap to SET SAIL by Steven Lyles of @olddora / "I grew up watching my grandfather, a career carpenter, restore and rebuild all kinds of things. The most memorable was a 1957 sailboat named Old Dora. She spent the better part of the past 20 years under a shed, until last November when he gifted her to me, sails tattered, bilges filled with dirt and dust, and her hull crumbling. I knew nothing about boat restoration, so over the past six months I’ve researched, sanded, scraped, scarfed and painted my way toward returning her to the water. We’re only halfway there, but it’s already the best decision I’ve ever made." ⠀
