SOMEBODY had to be either brave or stupid and try that coffee berry for the first time, right?
These little berries are red or green and are quite tart, and oddly, sticky. If you consider that someone had to come up with the idea of getting rid of the fruit, roasting the bean inside, grinding it down, and then pouring water through it to make a drink… It's a wonder we have coffee at all. But thank God we do!
This was my visit to the Café las Flores coffee plantation on the Mombacho Volcano outside of Granada, Nicaragua. It was one of my favorite things to do and I absolutely recommend it if you go. Plus you can buy coffee there and bring it home as gifts or a treat for yourself. Yes, we brought back almost 10 lbs. ☕️☕️?
