An #alligator patiently waiting for an opportunity camouflaged amongst saw grass and reeds in the shallow waters of #evergladesnationalpark Florida. Photographing this 7 foot beauty was an experience unlike any I've had. Calmly approaching and watching the mood of this beautiful animal was priority, both out of respect for the reptile and its habitat and for myself. I patiently moved in, and quietly moved out, my friend @andy_mann helping me keep watch in the process. #Alligators in the Everglades are at the southern extreme of their range, as the ocean sea levels rise and the fresh water salinity changes it will slowly push them further north. I'm currently in the Everglades photographing a story for @ナショナルジオグラフィック on climate change in Americas National Parks. It's been a moving experience, both beautiful and awakening.
