Practicing my sketchnote style with thematic doodle: versatility. I might break this up into a more specific series, maybe entailing a timeline story. At any rate, since childhood I've never quite been into one type of thing or niche as I love trying new things, discovering what I like and what I don't, what fits and what doesn't, what resonates and detracts. I was a tomboy who could out kickball them all and build tree houses but did so wearing the girliest of dresses. I love make-up and lotion and the whole lot, and I also like to tinker with my car from what my dad taught me growing up. Like changing the oil (though I will say I'm not at all adverse to a gentleman or shop doing this for me) and headlights and knowing how to change a flat (including the proper place to put the jack), and I prefer five speed transmissions to automatics. I will geek over good gardening tools and fertilizer at Home Depot and also skip through the aisles of a girly boutique. And of course nothing beats great art supply and stationery shops. And thrift stores and vintage consignments, don't even get me started on my love of them. I talk to the trees and I could spend hours underneath one reading a book. I don't quite fit in with the hippies, the fashionistas, the athletes or bookish types because I'm not extreme and "all-in" with any of them in terms of culture though I totally respect those who are. I just like too many things and appreciate and am fascinated with bits and pieces from them all! What can I say? I like my palette full of colour. :)
