Kamenita vrata, or Stone Gate is one of the biggest shrines in Zagreb. In 1731, a raging fire destroyed the neighberhood, but a picture of Virgin Mary remained intact within the building. She has been credited stopping the fire, and the word spread about her holy powers - many Croatians pray to her in the Stone Gate every day.
