Feeling as though we were a little bit tested this past weekend. I have been reminding myself that adversity is what makes us stronger, and that there is significantly less growth during successful times. We began this year in a new place with entirely new people. We began with a goal of having a podium finish at nationals and a trip to worlds. We didn't succeed. We finished instead with a double body slam, a lot of disappointment, and the feeling of what maybe could've been. I thought that we failed until I really picked apart the weekend in depth. We wanted to arrive looking like a different team than last year. I think that we did that. We wanted to show that we are tough, strong, (mentally and physically), and committed to the process, though it may be a long one. I KNOW that we did that. I am so super thankful that I have such amazing people to accompany me along the way. To Mike, who is my constant. Who is always smiling and making (sometimes terrible) jokes to brighten the day. Who gives 110% every day, is willing to try anything and compliments me on my lipstick ?. To Bruno, so trustworthy and ever so tricky to please. Who takes huge measures to ensure that we are happy and healthy and makes us know that he cares. Richard, who is always smiling and reminding me of perspective. Who has endless brilliant stories and makes sure we ALWAYS count our pair spin. To Julie, for her endless faith in us and countless hours reviewing and revisiting the same things over and over. For her pep talks and her hugs and the light she leaves wherever she goes. To Sylvie, for knowing all the stuff. For her tough love and for reminding me of my strengths. To Cynthia, for always being upbeat and happy to be at the rink. Our training mates rock! I am so grateful that their dedication to their own careers pushes me to better mine every day. I am also lucky to have the best family and friends and boyfriend. For ensuring me that I'm on the right path, reminding me of the important things in life, and for the unconditional love. So, while this nationals was in many ways not at all what I hoped for, maybe we did win. And as always, life goes on, and we'll be back ⭐️
