MILEY CYRUS TO STAR IN WOODY ALLEN’S NEW TV SERIES: @MileyCyrus has reportedly been cast in #WoodyAllen’s new 60s-set TV show for @Amazon. According to Deadline, the controversial singer will star alongside the equally controversial director in the as-yet-untitled comedy series. Not much else is known about the project at the moment, other than the fact it will consist of six half-hour episodes, and will also feature comedian Elaine May. Cyrus confirmed the news on Instagram this morning, alongside a painting of the director. “Fuck yeah!” she wrote in the caption. “Stoked to be in Woody Allens first series!!!!! I had claimed 2016 to be my year of ‘chillin the fuck out’ but next to my bed for a few years now has been this portrait of W.A. & I was looking into his eyes when I got the call to be apart of the cast and work alongside the bad a$$ Elaine May & da dude himself! 1960zzzz here I cummmmm (sic)” The project will mark a major return to TV for Cyrus, who famously built up her career as @Disney’s Hannah Montana. Contrastingly, it’ll be Allen’s first foray into the field – though apparently the Irrational Man director has already regretted “every second” of it. “I kept saying I have no ideas for it, that I never watch television,” Allen told Deadline. “I don't know the first thing about it. And I have regretted it every second since I said OK. It's been so hard for me. I had the cocky confidence, well, I'll do it like I do a movie…it'll be a movie in six parts. Turns out, it's not. For me it's been very, very difficult. I've been struggling and struggling and struggling.” “I only hope when I finally do it – I have until the end of 2016 – they're not crushed with disappointment because they're nice people and I don't want to disappoint them. I am doing my best.” The show is slated to air on Amazon Prime later this year, with shooting due to start in March. – words @dominiquesisley #dazedinstastory ? #regram @mileycyrus
