Tall, beautiful and peppered all over the #California coast #CortaderiaJubata grass looks nice but like any #invasivespecies it's creating erosion problems and choking out the local flora. Native to the northern Andes it's speculated that Jubata may have originally been introduced to California as an ornamental plant. This A-sexual plant took little time to spread and began moving into the landscape, littering the hills of the coastline. In spite of this grass being a problem, it's quite beautiful to walk among, towering some 8 feet high with a stunning view of the Pacific Ocean far below.
