The Racetrack is a dry lake bed that freezes over allowing large rocks to move across ice deposits. It’s one of the most unique things you can visit when going to Death Valley. The trip out to the Racetrack is far from convenient - I highly recommend a decent 4x4 vehicle if you go - but being able to see something so unique in person is worth the effort. Earth has so much incredible diversity that you can find unique and amazing natural phenomena within only a few hours of your front door (if not much closer). All you have to do is go find it.
