2.4 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized every year in the U.S. alone and many, many more go without shelter and food. Biodiversity as a whole has declined by over 50% since 1970. That means over half of the Earth’s population of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish life have been displaced or destroyed due to habitat destruction and hunting - in the past 45 years!
We have a situation that threatens to disrupt the entire stability of our ecosystem. Animal rescue and wildlife conservation isn't just in out best interest; it's a necessity. Are you doing your part when it comes to supporting animals and wildlife?
For today’s #SevenDaysToMakeAChange challenge show us how you’re helping to give these vulnerable animals a voice. Volunteer at a shelter, help a stray to get to a no-kill shelter, sign petitions that help make a change on a political level, and of course, don't eat anything with a central nervous system (the easiest way to help the greater good of the environment!).
