Spending time on social media is like hanging out with only my most talkative friends, in a place crowded with chattering strangers, while planes fly banners over my head and a dozen TVs blare nothing but news, punditry, and commercials in the background. It's not quiet time. It's not alone time. It's not restorative, recuperating time. It's NOISY. There's nothing wrong with that, of course. I just think sometimes I forget.
