Shia LaBeouf @thecampaignbook is ready to take your calls and have his soul touched for a new art performance he’s dubbed #TOUCHMYSOUL. Along with his collaborators Nastja Säde Rönkkö and Luke Turner, LaBeouf is inviting you to pick up your telephone and touch his soul on +44 (0)151 808 0771 between the hours of 11am – 6pm GMT.

The trio will be tethered to the lines at the @fact_liverpool gallery space starting today for four consecutive days as a continuation of their exploration into celebrity and public interaction. The entire project will be live-streamed via touchmysoul.net.

#TOUCHMYSOUL will be part of a new exhibition, titled Follow, which aims to present a variety of experiences and views of identity, sharing, and micro-celebrity within the context of a life lived online. Follow will explore how we act when everyone is watching. “Fame is no longer an aspirational dream and celebrities are no longer created on the exclusive space of the red carpet, but on our Twitter feeds and Facebook walls,” says Amy Jones, co-curator of Follow with Lesley Taker. “Follow looks into the ways we commodify, advertise and constantly curate our own image as our ‘product’, and explores how this can influence our sense of self.” #TOUCHMYSOUL follows on from #ALLMYMOVIES, where we collectively watched Shia LaBeouf cackle and cry at his entire film catalogue – a 72-hour, 29-film movie marathon.
