Photo by @andywcoleman // These 5 week old cheetah cubs are learning at an early age to climb on top of something to get a better view of their surroundings. All this week, Nat Geo WILD has programming dedicated to nature’s fiercest felines—big cats—creatures of magnificent strength, ferocity and beauty that are rapidly facing extinction. Populations of lions, tigers, cheetahs, leopards, jaguars, and other top felines are declining at an alarming rate. They are victims of habitat loss and degradation as well as conflicts with humans. More than a television event Big Cat Week is an extension of the BigCats Initiative, a long-term commitment by the National Geographic Society to stop poaching, save habitat and sound the call that big steps are needed to save big cats around the world. This global initiative actively supports on-the-ground conservation projects and education to help stem and eventually reverse the rapid disappearance of big cat populations. With today being Giving Tuesday, it is a great time to make a donation to help save these magnificent animals. #givingtuesday #bigcatweek #bigcats @natgeocreative
