Well, I think this is a crazy story... At 3pm, I still hadn't eaten any lunch and the heli-tour base was a 5 minute drive to the mall. The company was nice enough to have one of their workers take me so I didn't have to walk with all my bags (as I was flying back to NZ afterwards). On the way to lunch, we chatted & I learnt he hadn't had lunch either. So after ordering, he gets a phone call & asks me if he minds a friend joining us. Figured I felt safe and meeting people & learning their stories is part of travelling solo! When the bill came, I got out my card but they shouted me lunch! But the story gets better because after knowing me for less than an hour, I was allowed to drive his Audi R8 to drop myself at the airport! There are some awesome, trusting people in this World and although my Beef+Lamb ute doesn't quite match up, I would return the favour anytime they came to NZ! Thanks guys ?
