The idea for @makersmarket has been brewing for a while… growing up in the Deep South, I spent hours with my dad in his workshop. I'd listen to him tell stories about his latest fishing trip, or daydream about his next motorbike as I handed him his tools, swept sawdust and listened intently. We’d ride motorcycles through the countryside discovering potters, blacksmiths, textile weavers, and furniture makers. Watching and chatting with these craftsmen instilled a deep appreciation for those who design and handcraft one-of-a-kind product. Many times, these trades had been passed down through generations, and grandparents’ tools were still being used. We met the most talented, authentic, and down to earth people. There was a deep sense of home and belonging.
