I went to an Orlando Magic game last night ?? always been a big fan of watching other sport events! Entertaining game and good laughs with friends.
I saw a girl slightly in front of me taking a selfie with her boyfriend, Then (!!) she spent the next 5-10 minutes photo editing/ photo shop-ing the picture. Whiter teeth, narrower nose, smaller cheeks and "perfect/smooth" skin. .
With all the apps on the iphone these days it makes it so easy to portrait the "perfect image" and make you look like someone you are not! I was mindblown yesterday and Im sure she is not the only one doing this. .
I like social media and I use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram on a regular basis. That doesnt mean I spend extra time editing my pictures before posting them and I would never consider photo editing them before posting them. Sometimes I change the light to make the picture clearer cause I am far from a great photographer. ? There is a lot of pressure today of showing off a great surface, but I think sometimes it has gone too far and it is sending out the wrong message to young people.

My purpose with social media is to connect with my friends and fans all over the world, and it makes it possible for me to share my journey in hope to inspire others. I am far from perfect and just like everyone else, Im only human. I think we all have struggled from self image as some point in our life, not feeling happy with who we are and not being accepted for the way we look.

This girl from last night was beautiful and it just makes me sad to see her still having to fix the picture before she was happy to post it. It really isnt my business what she was doing, but it was an eye opener and it made me think, and inspired me to be myself even more. Beauty comes from within, and only the people that value that in you over your look should be in your life! ?
