? @johnkernickphotography The Little Red Lighthouse underneath the George Washington Bridge, or the Great Grey Bridge as its referred to in the 1942 children's storybook. The lighthouse is officially named Jeffrey's Hook Light and sits on the Eastern side of the Hudson River. The lighthouse was decommissioned in 1948 and if it hadn't been for the public outcry, largely due to the 1942 book the lighthouse would have been sold off. It is now on the national historic register and was relighted by the city in 2002. #HudsonRiver #littleredlighthouse #NYC #johnkernickphotography
