Frank Lloyd Wright inspected the construction of the @グッゲンハイム美術館 on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Sam Falk, a @ニューヨーク・タイムズ photographer, took this photo just over two years before the museum opened to the public. The @ニューヨーク・タイムズ critic who wrote about the opening, which was 56 years ago this week, could not conceal his feelings: “The Solomon F. #Guggenheim Museum … is a war between architecture and painting in which both came out badly maimed,” he wrote.
