Bruno Metsu had a coaching career every bit as colourful as his apperance. His two years in charge of the Senegalese national team gave the Frenchman in footballing folklore forever. The charismatic coach with the tousled long hair and his ‘Lions of Teranga’ shocked the reigning champions France on the way to reaching the quarter-finals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Sadly, Metsu died from cancer aged just 59 #OnThisDay in 2013.
