Update 10/10 11:30 - (See last night's post or click link below for full story). Just heard from the vet and we have good news and bad. Bandit (black kitty) crossed the rainbow bridge. ??
He fought like a trooper but in the end his little body just couldn't fight off everything he was dealing with. This is the first time we've lost a kitten and our hearts are heavy. I see this in rescue posts a lot where even seemingly healthy kittens die unexpectedly because they could have unknown underlying diseases like FIV or FELV or a host of other hidden complications. The cards may have been stacked against him from the start but we gave him a fighting chance & never gave up. R.I.P. pain free little guy! ??
On the brighter side, his brother, Smokey is improving, vibrant and playful. His outcome is much more promising & he already weighs more. He will remain at the vet in treatment through the weekend.
As heartbroken as I am over my first rescue loss, my heart is warmed by the outpouring of love and donations for these guys!
So thank you again and I will post another update as soon as I have one. Things are looking good for Smokey though so please keep him in your Purrrayers. Together, with your support we will pull him through and with any $ left after the vet bill is paid will be used to save more lives!
