The somewhat dirty looking patch of snow on the left side of the mountain is the Palmer glacier, where the famous Mt. Hood summer skiing takes place. Sadly lack of snow this winter combined with warm summer temperatures closed summer skiing down a full month earlier than usual. Thankfully #winteriscoming. @natgeocreative
