I love how in Italy, form just BARELY follows function. If it's a door they'll make it overly ornate and if they can fit a TINY door inside the BIG door they'll do it. If it's bars covering a window they'll make it as curlicued as possible and if it's a naked ceiling you better believe it's gonna get frescoed.
