Our Expedition aboard the National Geographic Orion took us to the charming fishing village of Tanjung Kumbik in the Riau Islands Province of Indonesia. Most of the buildings of the village are constructed on mangrove pilings set into the tidal flats. We were welcomed with a traditional dance performance and then strolled amongst the colorful buildings.
