Thanks for sharing the story of your Chanel, @dutchess_daily! "We adopted Dutchess, a Pit Bull/Shepherd mix at a shelter in Virginia 10 years ago when she was about a year old. The shelter informed us Dutchess was abused, malnourished, and aggressive, but that didn't stop us from rescuing her. With lots of training, socialization, and patience, Dutchess has become a totally different dog. I know senior dogs have a stigma of being lazy & sleepy, but Dutchess is the complete opposite! She is very energetic and still participates competitively in many dog sports such as dock diving, agility, skijoring, and bikejoring...she absolutely loves it! Dutchess shares an unconditional love for the outdoors with us and always tags along on our adventures. We are firm believers in the importance for dogs (and humans!) to get outside, be active, and eat healthy. Dutchess might be approaching 12 years old, but she is still a young puppy at heart. She's extremely active, but at the end of the day her favorite thing to do is snuggle with dad on the couch. Those two are aging "gracefully" together Senior dogs are a true blessing!" writes @dutchess_daily & @bigsispaige.
