Sunrise over the #BeringSea in #Alaska. @jimwilson125 recently traveled to the far western reaches of the state. His destination: St. Lawrence Island, which was once home to a 4,800-acre radar station called Northeast Cape. Roughly 600 military installations across Alaska were never fully cleaned up after World War II and the Cold War. As a result, health problems in communities nearby have lingered and festered. Today, several longtime residents on St. Lawrence Island are speaking up about the things they saw at Northeast Cape, which is one of the biggest and most polluted sites.
