Honored.
As an artist I have always hoped to portray the darkness and light that is inevitable within our human experience. Tomorrow I am being nominated for the PRISM award, which recognizes the accurate depiction of substance abuse, treatment, recovery, and mental health challenges in television, movies, music, and comic book entertainment.
This nomination category is "Drama Multi-Episode Storyline - Substance Abuse" and for the storyline of my character, Kelly Badillo, within the show Graceland by USA network.
I know multiple people who have struggled with substance abuse and I honor all of their journeys. I especially honor the bravery to look within and battle through the darkness and to find the light. It is a strength that is noble and honorable. "The only way out is through." #YouAreNotAlone
