See Paris through the eyes of Russian painter #MarcChagall, born today in 1887, with "Paris Through the Window" from the Guggenheim collection, painted after the artist moved to Paris from Russia in 1910. Although Chagall refused literal interpretations of his paintings, the two-faced figure in this painting has been read as the artist looking at once westward to his new home in France and eastward to Russia.
