Chilean artist #IvnNavarro uses electric light as his primary medium, appropriating the visual language of Minimalism and imbuing it with political resonance. Influenced by memories of blackouts in Chile that were used as a tool of control, "Homeless Lamp, the Juice Sucker," is a grocery cart built from fluorescent tubes. Navarro wandered the gallery-lined streets of Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood, periodically connecting it to power sources in street lamps.
