Nick Lucena (left) and Theo Brunner have no expectations for the #FIVBWorldChamps. That was their strategy last week when they scored their first medal this season, a bronze at The St. Pete Grand Slam, so they're going with it again in #Amsterdam. I asked Brunner, a two-time AVP Best Blocker award winner and former indoor player, for some blocking knowledge. "Indoor, at the highest level, blocking is all about reading the setter, arriving, and hand positioning. Everything is really important, but none of that matters if you can't get there. Beach, you kind of know where everything is coming. You learn their tendencies and you try to play games with the hitter. It's different, but it's the same." Three things to remember when blocking? "Penetrate over the net, have a strong finish, be decisive." #humansofvb
